It shouldn't make me angry. But it does.

Its Nights Like These...

So today I "won" tickets to the first round of the High School Boys Basketball Playoffs.  Not only were they tickets they were VIP tickets! Haha I had so much fun! It helps that our team won!
There were so many great moments about tonight... so here's a list...
~scream singing in the car (haha a little T-Swift and many man bashing songs)
~hanging out with awesome friends
~SITTING at a basketball game in comfy chairs
~Taking tons of pictures
~VIP entrances, elevators, seats, tickets, the whole shebang
~winning the game
~creeping on people
~being yelled at for cheering too loudly
~dance party in the parking lot/blowing kisses to Davis boys (the team we beat)
~McDonalds at midnight!!!
~staying out late on a school night
~being HAPPY!!

So over all it was a great night!

on a serious note.

Tonight a Jordan High School student passed away in a roll over car accident on state street.

He was 17 years old.

My thoughts, prayers, and love go out to his family and all his friends and the general student population at Jordan.

I know what it feels like to lose a Grandparent,

a friend,

and a parent.

May you all find comfort in knowing that heaven is a little bit better tonight now that a precious son of God has returned home.

And to the passenger in critical condition, we pray for their speedy recovery.

Some People Call it Valentines Day, I call it Tuesday

So its valentines day. And just like every year in the past I am single! But this year for some reason it does't make me sad or disappointed.  Today I can't help but be happy.
Love has many forms, there is romantic love (which is idolized on this somewhat infamous day), family love, friend love, child-like love and all sorts of other types of love.  And I have had the chance to experience all of them! I am so lucky and so LOVED!
So here's how I look at it... I can be sad that I am not in the typical manipulative high school relationship, or I can be happy that I do have love in my life.
So here is a thank you to all my friends and family that I love.  Truly (as cheesy as this sounds) you are all my valentines!  I love you all so much and I wish you luck in your romantic endeavors on this day!

Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing

My dad once told me that I probably wouldn't find the importance of Trek till years later.  Today I was looking through all our trek pictures and listening to Pandora and the song Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing came on.  It moved me nearly to tears as I scanned through these pictures.  I was remembering all that happened so that I could go on trek, my initial feelings of loathing towards my parents for making me go, and the end result.  . It was then that I found the meaning of trek, and it wasn't what I expected. I suppose to every person who went there could be a large variety of different reasons, each profound in their own way.  To me trek showed me that I can do hard things, that I can make it through every challenge and trial in my life. I am sad to say that I did not walk the whole distance, and everyday since then I have regretted it, however on my 17th birthday I accomplished my biggest goal during trek, I made it up Rocky Ridge. I discovered something in doing so, I discovered that my trial is not Rocky Ridge, or even just walking across the plains, my trials are different but just as difficult to me as the trek was to those who made the trip so many years ago.

its my Birf-day! (nope not my birthday)

Tonight I spent the night with some of my lovely co-workers.  We went to dinner and basically had a GNO. I loved every minute of it!  These girls were so sweet and took me out to dinner for my "birthday". It was so much fun. I am so lucky to know these amazing girls!  After many laughs and seeing a new side of Katie, to talking about Asian Persuasion and aliens with Jade (oh and a marvelous toast), to having anniversaries with Kenzi, and "swinging" with Cheryse we had a marvelous night!  Thank you girls so much! (I don't know why I am blue in this picture!)
